When our gorgeous client Laing + Simmons came to us with this year’s Annual Awards theme, it was an opportunity we simply could not resist… The brief – ‘The Moulin Rouge!’
Hosted at the brand new function space at the W Hotel Sydney, this was a dream come true.
As guests entered the foyer area dressed to the nines, they were transported to a bustling Parisian theatre, fashioned with luxurious red drapery, elegant lighting and decadent lounging areas. With the smell of fresh popcorn in the air, a 3 piece band filled the space with smooth jazz and guests were bedazzled with glitter and jewels at our glam station.The paparazzi were first on the scene making everyone feel like true celebrities on arrival, and of course, our stunning showgirls completed the scene.
After a short time in the foyer, the curtains were drawn to reveal the grand ballroom – an extravagant and opulent space, styled with red and burgundy ceiling drapes, stunning table florals, street lamps and vintage Moulin Rouge posters. Featured in the centre of the room was our ‘french’ artist, working on a custom piece to present at the end of the night, not to mention the 14m LED screen welcoming the guests to the ‘Moulin Rouge’.
It wasn’t long before the fabulous Leanne (CEO of L + S) graced the stage with her 4 dancers and performed a fabulous opening number adorned in feathers and sequins. In between the accolades of the night, our amazing 4 piece DJ band dressed the part and had everyone up dancing. At the conclusion of the awards, our dancers returned to perform the Can Can, a grand finale involving the whole room and culminating in Laing + Simmons’ very own kickline! Once the band were back on, the party started and the dance floor did not stop until the lights came on. A 360 video booth completed the night with the guests capturing their memories of a fabulous evening.
This was truly a night to remember that exuded opulence and we are so honoured to continue to create signature events for the amazing team at Laing + SImmons. From concept to execution, we poured our heart into every detail and we can’t wait to do it all again!
